Heifer International

Heifer International, a non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to ending world hunger and saving the earth, is part of our HOPE Ministry’s outreach to the world. For 9 years our Advent Fundraiser has supported projects in rural parts of the United States, as well as, remote locations in Africa and South America. Heifer International provides livestock, trees, training and other resources to poor families so they can become self-reliant. The requirement, called “Passing on the Gift”, means that every recipient of a Heifer animal must pass on the first female offspring of that animal to another needy neighbor. This starts a chain of giving that can touch hundreds of lives. Also, thanks to the profits from HOPE Ministry’s Shopping Card Program, over $6,500 in the past nine years has been given to help Heifer’s earthquake victims in rural China, a seeds of change program in Appalachia, and an organic farming initiative in the Mississippi Delta Region. Thank you for your ongoing support of Heifer International and the Shopping Card Program. For more information, please contact Mary Manning (596-9483).
